How the hell does
PokerStars calculate their avg pot stat shown in the lobby? And how often is it updated? I went to check out the PLO8 penny tables, and found one that was averaging $6 pots!! Normally, there are about 8 tables available, and the juicy tables are 75% to flop with $1 avg pots.
Here is what is going on tonight:

So, table Lacrimosa has under 50% to flop but is averaging $5? (It was $6 when I first looked, but by the time I decided to take the screen shot, it had gone down.) I opened the table to see why, and found that the average stack was $8. Normally, the average stack is about $3...default buy-in is $5...but most buy-in for $1 or $2. Is it just averaging the last 5 to 10 hands? I can't see that it has held this average over a significant sample.
Now that I'm finished writing this post...about 15 minutes has gone by, and Lacrimosa is now showing a $3 average pot...which is still ridiculous.
(Can you tell this is my poker pc?)
