I just about fell over in my seat after this river.  I couldn't lay this down when it was so cheap.  I was getting odds the entire hand (good thing that cap on the flop padded the pot eh?)

Player 4 was furious, he said he had aces.  He seemed like a relatively straightforward player, but I'm still capping with 2 donks coming for the ride.  Yeeeee ha!!!

Finally a little good luck after my brutal downswing.

And I guess a quick river comment, obviously a bet, slowplaying would be stupid.

Also, notice the huge mistake of player 5 not raising.  Even though your 1 pair might be beat, this is a must raise to force others out of this huge pot.

They generally won't fold out of a huge pot.  But a raise by a second best hand may still be correct if another player will call at -EV, i.e. contribute dead money.

And QJo is not a huge error against AK.  It's only a 64:36 dog, so with enough implied it's fine (less bad at NL than L).  It's not dominated by AK like KQ and AQ are (74:26 dogs).

I think so many players complain about AK (e.g. Anna Kournikova) because they don't play it well.  I.e. you shouldn't berate someone for playing QJ against AK.  You just try to minimize your loss.

Yeah but that anaysis assumes you know someone has AK.  In this example the cold 3-bet call with QJo is braindead.  If someone's raising range is tighter your going to be forced into some difficult decisions with QJo.

Well, we're all due for one of these once in a while.  You're sort of priced in not matter what on the flop, 4-way in a massive pot with any equity at all you just have to call down.  I agree that betting the river is definitely best, going for the c/r is just "fancy play syndrome" here.

Well, if it's been re-raised, you would assume someone has a big hand.  Possibly a premium pair.  I'm not saying these guys are geniuses.  But if OTB's cards were suited, it might actually be a good play.  And you can't fault people for failing to figure out that they're up against AA.

your going to be forced into some difficult decisions with QJo.

Some difficult decisions, yes.  But also a lot of easy ones.  I tend to steam when I'm card dead, and get dealt 84o, 93o, 62, etc., over and over.  But sooner or later I will accept that, because these hands are incredibly easy to play and that streak gives me an opportunity to profile other players.  QJ is like that, too.  It's not a premium hand, but it has its uses if you're clever enough to find them, and it's not really difficult to play.  I suspect that several of the players who post here are +EV with QJo, esp. OTB.
