So I haven't played in about a week, so tonight it was good to have a short (<200 hands) +2BI session, especially given my recent run. It was also nice to find myself thinking a lot clearer, and not making too many cringeworthy mistakes. Here are a couple of hands I would like some comments on. Neither were particularly large BR-wise, but they are probably the most I have ever thought about a hand while I was playing it, so I'll put my thinking in red and just see what you guys think. Nothing mind-blowing here, but i'd like to know if i'm starting to "get it"  Razz.

--HAND 1--

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (5 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

SB ($10.11)
Hero (BB) ($5.20)
UTG ($3.20)
MP ($5.45)
Button ($9.03)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Ad, Kd
2 folds, Button raises to $0.20, 1 fold,
I've just sat at the table. I feel this is probably blind stealing attempt. Call with intention of C-R on flop.
Hero calls $0.15

Flop: ($0.42) Jh, 6s, 5s (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $0.30, Hero raises to $1, 1 fold

Total pot: $1.02 | Rake: $0.05

Results:
Hero didn't show
Outcome: Hero won $0.97

--HAND 2--

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (5 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

Button ($10.17)
Hero (SB) ($6.40)
BB ($3.24)
UTG ($5.34)
MP ($9.31)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Qd, Qc
UTG calls $0.05, 1 fold, Button raises to $0.20,
I have 32 hands on button. he is running 13/6/inf. I considered folding/calling, but I only have a small number of hands on villain, and I am still ahead of much of his range.
Hero raises to $0.85, 2 folds, Button calls $0.65

Flop: ($1.80) 4h, 9c, 7c (2 players)
Ok. now things get a little messy..
Hero checks, Button bets $1.50,

not sure why I checked, (I really should have bet out on this somewhat connected board?) but a near pot sized bet has me feeling this guy is strong. I am +1 BI at this point in my session, and a little deep here. A call here, and I am as good as committing myself. I'm really not wanting to get stacked here, as I have built a bit of confidence at this point. Eventually I decide that the flat call of my 3-bet PF probably means that he is not holding AA or KK. The only likely holdings that are beating me are 99 and 77.

Hero calls $1.50

Looking back through this, I should have shoved here? I believe I am in front. He is probably holding at least one overcard, so if an A or K turns, I am in trouble. Clubs are also a little worrying.

Turn: ($4.80) 3s (2 players)

Ok, a rag, so I do what I should have done before the turn and ship it in.

Hero bets $4.05 (All-In), 1 fold

Total pot: $4.80 | Rake: $0.20

Results:
Hero didn't show
Outcome: Hero won $4.60

hand 1,

Im not a big 3bettor (a leak) but even here this is an easy reraise ESPECIALLY if you think he is stealing.

hand 2,

If you 3bet, you really have to bet out the flop

as played neither (IMHO) were cringeworthy Laughing

On hand 2...At this point you need to think what your opponent is most likely to do.  If he's aggressive he's much more likely to bet a worse hand double barreling.  So I think you may want to check here depending on his tendencies.  But simply shipping this isnt horrible.  However betting into villain on the flop may be best but really who knows.  we dont know what he's going to do necessarily and we arent getting away from our QQ when we play the line either way you do.

At this level...Check.  He's likely to bet a worse hand more often than he calls with one.  And he's more likely to bluff than not bluff at this level as well.

Eventually I decide that the flat call of my 3-bet PF probably means that he is not holding AA or KK.

I would think the exact opposite.  He has position, and you might get away if he tries to put you all in.

Looking back through this, I should have shoved here? I believe I am in front.

He would have folded earlier.  Since the turn seems to be a blank, why not value bet?

Hand 1 I'd re-raise pre-flop.  Check-raising with just overcards isn't a great play most of the time, you have no draw except a "draw" to top pair.  What are you doing if he calls the c/r?

Hand 2 I'd just bet flop.  That's a pretty good flop for your QQ (compared to AK7 or 6 Hearts 7 Hearts 8 Hearts) and checking risks him checking behind.  If the turn is something ugly like 8 Clubs or an A you might really regret checking.
