Hi guys,

felt like playing some NL Hold'em.

UTAC please. I think the flop line is arguable, however I would like to hear your thoughts on the river.

UTG calls $0.10, 3 folds, Hero raises to $0.50, BB calls $0.40, UTG calls $0.40

Flop: ($1.50) 3c, 8d, 8c (3 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, UTG checks

Turn: ($1.50) 7h (3 players)
Hero bets $1.20, BB calls $1.20, UTG calls $1.20

River: ($5.10) 4d (3 players)

Kai, Kai............

I know the board is dryish, but I still bet the flop as to the river, I guess that one has 65? I still make the call as there is not much else out there 8 or 65 .... the fact that the turn wasnt raised and UTG didnt shove the river ...I make the cry call getting over 3:1 , albeit reluctantly

I think I've found your problem.  Checking is pretty bad here especially multi-way, because you risk an overcard for someone holding AK, Ax, or even Kx not to mention the possibility that someone with TT or whatever would have called your bet on the flop anyway (probably even raised).

River sucks but as played I'm not sure I can fold to a less than pot-sized bet.
