Make the hero laydown since the 1/15th pot size bet is always the nuts.   Shocked

OK seriously, given your stack size relative to the pot just raise all-in.  If you call, you're allowing a lot of bad river cards to mess up this hand, T, any Diamonds, K are all problematic for your hand (and they may make him not call a bet anyway).  Unless you really think he's trapping with KT I'm inclined to get it in.

Ok.. I feel much better about it now...

Couldn't have been any more correct! I shoved, river was a rag, he had Kd Td

I'm still trying to learn how to size my bets better. I always get nervous in this situation because I feel that I am just blowing all the worse hands off, and giving my chips to the better hand. Hands like this don't help  Confused

Post oak.  Let him lead and call him down.  Your hand is way too strong to fold.

Unless you really think he's trapping with KT

This is not the issue.  He's not protecting his hand.  Simply take advantage of that and see the cheap card.

Hey coughy,

I think I have seen you write this somewhere else. What does "post oak" mean? (is it bad that I don't know??  Razz)

See my reply to V.  Post oak is very cheap lumber.  It's irregular but it's strong.  It's used to repair fence posts, hence "post" oak.

I have made these plays (On a Bluff only as opposed to here where he had the nuts) Embarassed

Usually I check in the BB with shit and the flop is 558, everyone checks the flop and the turn is 3 ... I lead out for minimum here sometimes.....

Oh the shame of it... Laughing Laughing

Well you might consider raising more on the flop.  You're giving him decent odds to call and catch and stack you, especially with stacks >100BB each.

OK I guess 1/15th pot is the nuts?  Razz

The wiki article is wrong.  People made post oak bets long before anyone ever tried it as a bluff.

The "post oak bluff" became wildly popular after Daniel N. did it once for HUGE stakes ($100,000 or so).  He made a very small bet on the river holding nothing, and the other guy folded.  Plus, saying "post oak bluff" is cool and sounds like you go out drinking and whoring with Doyle B.
